LANDSCAPE DESIGN
The landscape design process includes:
- Start-Up Meeting With the Client: I will meet with the Client to gain an understanding of the Client’s desires, ideas, requirements, and scope of work.
- Review of Documents: I will review the available maps and documentation such as site plans and improvement plans, if available.
- Site Analysis: I will gain a thorough understanding of the site to determine if there are unique opportunities or constraints that should be considered in the design and ultimate implementation.
- Preliminary Landscape Plan: A graphic presentation will be created in plan view of the preliminary concept. The preliminary concept will specifically locate exterior house areas, hardscape, landscape areas, planting masses, and related landscape features. I will schedule a meeting with the Client to present the preliminary concept plan. This will be a virtual meeting via Zoom unless a different method of presentation is agreed upon by both the consultant and the Client.
- Plan Refinement: After reviewing the Preliminary Landscape Concept Plan with the Client, the requested changes will be made based on the Client’s review of the preliminary concept.
- Final Plan: The final plan approved by the client will be delivered in digital 24-inch x 36-inch PDF format via email.
LANDSCAPE CONSULTATION
For those who want to do the work themselves, a landscape consultation may be sufficient as long as there are no HOA requirements for a plan submittal. A consultation can accomplish the following: With pen in your hand, I will…
- meet and discuss all your ideas, dreams, and desires for your property and your lifestyle.
- evaluate your property to determine if your ideas will work or if some modifications are required.
- address any concerns you may have about your new landscape.
- assess your property for any problems that may need to be addressed.
- provide ideas for hardscape that will enhance your property based on your desired outcome.
- decide on the plants that will work best for your property considering location, soil, sun vs. shade areas, and proper irrigation. I can also discuss soil preparation and amendments to provide the foundation for your plants to thrive.
- examine any drainage issues and how to resolve them.
